Sounds like someone doesn't know Vlarpese. The Vlarpians of Vlarp have a unique form of telepathy, wherein they channel everything they want to say into a single word, "Vlarp", and it is instantly understood by anyone who hears it, regardless of language barriers. Entire sentances, speeches and even films can be said with a single Vlarp.

What's the altitude limit on that floating chair? Becuase I'd prefer to gently float along rather than swoop about with a jetpack (less fatal crashing, less risk of cooking my legs)

Ah. No good then: I'd want to get at least high enough to avoid being clipped by oncoming traffic. :)

Fun fact: the Vlarpians of planet Vlarp speak "Vlarpese", a language consisting entirely of a single, all-purpose word: "Vlarp". The Vlarpians, being moderate telepaths, communicate by projecting all their thoughts on the subject by compressing them into the spoken word "vlarp" which, upon hearing, is instantly understood by those listening, regardless of language barriers. Vlarp doesn't just stand in for every word, but every sentence, paragraph, speech, and entire books and encyclopedias, all of which are only one word long and printed on special tele-projective paper for easy reading.

Trust me, until you've read "The Scarlet Letter" in Vlarpese, you don't know "The Scarlet Letter".

that's some compression you got there, would you need two "Vlarps'" to get war and peace done?

Entire Vlarpian empires have risen and fallen from a single Vlarp.

[link] The future of air warfare. All that time people spent joking that warfare would start to look like a video game and now in the skies it actually does.
