Dwelling deep within the sea and rivers, the Taniwha is an enigmatic creature that causes mischief and mayhem for swimmers and sailors. Some simply grab people and drown them, others tunnel through the earth to cause mudslides and falling trees. To the untrained eye, they appear as a benign log.
