I decided to go a slightly different approach today and go with one of my favorite bit of Japanese folklore: the Tsukumogami! A Tsukumogami is a type of "Yōkai", a general term for any sort of weird supernatural creature found in Japan. If any sort of inanimate object is abandoned for too long, usually 100 years or so, it can actually come to life, often sprouting eyes, tongues and limbs as well.
Which is why of course in our modern-day society, the prime choice for Tsukumogami would be a stick of Chapstick, since nobody in the history of forever has ever held onto one to the very end. The telephone and fridge I added for fun.

Have any of these things even been around 100 years? Really basic telephones maybe.
